RUSSIAN GILDED SILVER & PLIQUE-A-JOUR BOX, GUSTAV KLINGERT, MOSCOW, CIRCA 1891, W 2 3/8", L 4":Probably a cigarette case, rectangular shape with rounded corners and button closure, scrolling foliage overall in translucent shades of blue, green, gold, red and clear; white enamel bead border. Hallmarks at one side of the interior include a notched rectangle enclosing 84 and St. George slaying the dragon, and GK (Latin) in a square; at the other side 1891 in a rectangle, GK (Latin) in a square, and another illegible. Provenance, the Estate of John B. Poole.
