Continental School, late 19th century. "Mother and Child at Water's Edge", oil on canvas, signed lower right "B. Lenk". Marine painting depicting mother and son at right resting against tall rocks on the beach and watching waves crash along the shore, their small dog standing on the rocky outcropping in the water below sea spray, the vast ocean to background with sailing ships at left under stormy sky speckled with flying white sea birds. Christie's label on verso of frame. Framed approximately 26" x 31.375". Unframed approximately 21.5" x 26.75".
