Dovetailed Painted and Decorated White Pine Six-Board Chest, Mohawk Valley, New York, 1820s, the hinged top with molded edge opens to a cavity with molded lidded till above a bottom half-round edge that rests on two planks with front molded edge painted dark brown; the dark blue-green ground paint is decorated with light red geometric shapes, most of which are outlined in yellow on the top as well as the front and sides, original surfaces, (imperfections and minor losses), ht. 18 1/2, wd. 50 1/2, dp. 19 in.
