Dr. Paul Henkel, Born 1757," and Dr. Paul Henkel 1754;" one of an elderly gentleman, with inscription "Mr. E. Whittle Artist" stamped on the reverse; and one of a woman, (toning, stains) 4 1/4 x 7 3/4, 3 1/2 x 2 3/4, 3 3/4 x 2 5/8 in. (sight). Note: A genealogical search records that Paul Henkel was born December 12, 1754, in Rowan, North Carolina, his wife Elizabeth Negeley was born September 20, 1757, in New Market, Shenandoah, Virginia, they were married November 20, 1776 and had nine children.
