Wall Tapestry featuring Egrets in a Lotus Pond, Japan, Meiji Period (1868-1912), the birds depicted standing in the water amidst lotus flowers and lily pads, with a pair of birds in flight above, with brocade border, 92 1/2 x 67 in. Note: Similar the textiles exhibited in "Threads of Silk and Gold: Ornamental Textiles from Meiji Japan" at the Ashmolean Museum, on loan from the Kiyomizui Sannenzaka Museum.
