Louis XV-style Bureau Plat, with a tooled and gilt-decorated leather writing surface framed by crossbanded veneer, and an ormolu-mounted edge and frieze; frieze also with a row of three drawers to front and three dummy drawers to the reverse; raised on cabriole legs each mounted with ormolu terminal figures to the knees and with sabot-mounted and scrolled feet, ht. 31 1/8, wd. 69, dp. 37 1/2 in. Writing surface with very slight usage wear to leather, veneer with surface abrasions and some nicks. Veneer dry and cracking throughout frame with scattered areas of loss.
