Reuben Chappell (British, 1870-1940) Two Portraits of the Fishing Smack Trio of Bideford, England. One signed, the other with artist's initials l.l., vessels identified in inscriptions l.r. Watercolor and gouache on paper, approx. 14 x 21 in., in matching molded giltwood frames. Condition: Paper laid down on to card, minor toning, edge stains. Note: The Trio was built at Bideford, a southwest England port town, in 1861, owned by Thomas Watts of Braunton, weighed almost 38 tons, and was broken up in 1925.
