Chippendale Cherry and Birch Carved Armchair, probably Massachusetts, c. 1780, the serpentine crest rail centering a carved fan flanked by scrolled terminals above a carved and pierced splat and raking molded stiles joining the scrolled arms on concave supports to the rush seat and molded Marlborough legs joined to the raking rear legs by beaded stretchers, refinished, ht. 40 1/2, seat ht. 15 in.
