School's Tellurium by Jan Felkl, Czechoslovakia, with 2 1/2-inch diameter terrestrial globe made up of twelve lithographed gores, revolving white-painted wood moon ball and geared arm with crank and worm-drive to rotating hand-colored horizon ring showing calendar months in thirty-day divisions, the compass points and houses of the Zodiac and their symbols, a candle-holder at the center with brass reflector representing the sun, on baluster-form pillar to cast-iron base with five cabriole legs, ht. 15 1/2 in.
