Kircher, Athanasius (1602-1680) Musaeum Kircherianum, ed. Filippo B(u)onanni (1645-1723) Amsterdam: Jansson-Waesberg, 1709. Folio, engraved portrait and 171 engraved plates, lacking plate eighty, contents clean, in contemporary speckled sheepskin, worn and defective. Kircher presided over the collections Alfonso Donnino left to the Jesuits when he died in 1651. This illustrated catalog provides a snapshot of the diverse interests of European collectors in the early modern period.
