Rare Commonwealth of Pennsylvania contract Deringer rifle, ca. 1814 , converted to percussion, .54 caliber, the lock and barrel both stamped H Deringer Phila , the left barrel flat stamped CP 55 , and CP 55 stamped in the cartouche on the left wrist, with trigger guard finger grooves, 33" octagonal to round rifled barrel with a bayonet lug. The contract for this rifle was for 200 guns and was shared between Deringer and Tryon of Philadelphia, with Deringer utilizing the first 100 serial numbers.
