Fine and rare, oval, water-resistant, center-seconds, self-winding, 18K yellow gold gentleman's wristwatch with date and a gold-plated Omega buckle. This watch is sold with a box, Certificate of Authenticity and 2-year Omega guarantee Two-body, solid, polished and brushed, screw-down case back. Two-color, satiné gray with satiné gold hour chapter, outer minute/seconds divisions, date aperture. Luminous gold and black “baton” hands. Cal. 565, copper-colored, 24 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock absorber, self-compensating flat balance spring, index regulator. Dial, case and movement signed. Dim. 41 x 36 mm. Thickness 12 mm. Notes Ref. BA 166.0039 This reference was launched in 1971. The “Dynamic” Family In 1967 Omega marketing manager Robert Forster conceived of an entirely new style of watch. Designed by Raymond Thévenaz, with a case by Italian manufacturer Fernando Fontana (Sesto Calende), the “Dynamic” family was launched in 1968 to a receptive audience. Its elliptical shape results from the first study of the way a watch sits on the wrist. In 1970 the “Dynamic” family was moved into the “De Ville” line, which is where Omega was concentrating its design efforts at the time. There it continued to be a great success, and as a result was launched as its own line in 1984, and again in 1997. The final incarnation of the “Dynamic” line was
