American School, late 19th/ early 20th century. "Woman Spinning Yarn", oil on canvas, possibly monogrammed in red lower right below frame rebate. Finely painted American Impressionist work depicting a solemn, aging woman within an interior with bonnet to downturned head, shawl wrapped over shoulders, and plaid blanket over her lap, with a long stick resting in her hands upon which raw fibers are wound, a wooden yarn spinning wheel resting in front of her with only the top portion within view, and a large window to left. Period label to verso of stretcher. Framed approximately 34.75" x 29.75", unframed approximately 29.5" x 24.5".
