Ferdinand Burgdorff (American, 1881-1975) The Evening Star--Cypresses and Starlight Signed and dated "Ferdinand Burgdorff 1918" l. r., identified on a label from Newport Harbor Art Museum, Newport Beach, California, affixed to the reverse. Watercolor on paper, sight size 11 1/2 x 13 1/2 in. (29.2 x 34.3 cm), framed (under glass). Condition: Not examined out of frame. Provenance: John H. Garzoli, San Francisco; private New England collection to the estate of an arts benefactor, New York. The frame is period to the work. Although it has not been removed from its frame, there are no additional visible issues to report.
