Brass Inclined Plate Dial by Bradford, London, three leveling screws support a round base and silvered dial compass with degree scale in four quadrants, directions, eight point rose, two spirit levels and steel needle and a hinged gnomon and pierced hour scale with Roman numerals engraved Bradford 136 Minories London set against a hinged latitude scale calibrated 0-60, dia. of base and ht. 4 1/4 in. Note: Isaac Bradford is listed at this address in the first quarter of the 19th century as Mathematical and Optical Instrument Maker, see Gloria Clifton Directory of British Scientific Instrument Makers, 1550-1851 , page 37. old lacquered surface, silvering in excellent condition, spirit levels and needle stop functioning.
