Charles Meryon (French, 1821-1868) Lot of Two Works: La morgue, 1854, fourth state of seven (Schneiderman, 42); and Le Ministère de la Marine, 1865, (Schneiderman, 94). Both identified within the plates. Etchings on paper, plate sizes to 9 x 8 in. (22.4 x 19.7 cm), unmatted, unframed. Condition: Unobtrusive toning, Morgue laid down, trimmed just into image, and with staining, Ministère with staining to upper margin. Morgue is trimmed to or just within the plate mark, and is laid down. The original sheet measures 8 5/8 x 7 1/2 in. There is prevalent staining to the original and supporting sheets. Marine has a sheet measuring 16 1/8 x 11 7/8 in. There are tape stain to the verso, and prevalently in the upper margin.
