Famille Rose "Mille Fleur" Vase, China, early 20th century, of ovoid form with flaring neck and spreading foot, applied to either side with a blue-glazed foo dog-mask holding gilt fixed-ring handle, a reserve of boys at play to one side and one of a female figure instructing a boy to the other, enameled all over with a multitude of flowers including prunus, morning glory, peony, magnolia, and hydrangea reserved on a gilt ground, the neck decorated en suite, with a band of stylized lotus scrolls against a yellow-enameled ground around the shoulder, Qianlong four-character mark on the base, ht. 11 1/2 in. Minor loss to the gilt
