Martinot à Paris, circa 1700. Fine silver overlaid gilt brass Louis XIV Oignon with enamel cock. Double body, "oignon", decorated with engraved roundels. White enamel with Roman numerals. Blued steel single hand. Hinged gilt brass full plate with Egyptian pillars, fusee with chain, plain brass three-arm balance, early short flat balance spring, gilt brass Louis XIV cock set with a fine enamel panel painted with the portrait of a lady holding a fan, on a black ground, in the manner of the Huaud workshop. Signed on the back plate. In good condition. Diam. 55 mm.
