Universal Watch, Geneva, circa 1900. Fine niello silver keyless watch with chronograph and instantaneous 30 minute recorder. Four body, massive, "bassine et filets", decorated with a niello floral decoration in a geometrical pattern, the back centred with a blank gold escutcheon. Silver cuvette. White enamel with Arabic numerals, outer Arabic minute and chronograph ring, subsidiary seconds and minute register. Blued steel "spade" hands. 18-, gilt brass, three quarter plate, 17 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring. Chronograph with visible work, and button on the winding crown. Signed on the cuvette. In very good condition. Diam. 53 mm.
