Chinese Silver Railway Presentation Plaque, early 20th century, shield-shaped, with traces of partial gold wash, the crest chased and embossed with a dancing maiden amidst flowers, the sides with prunus branches, birds, and butterflies, the center of shield engraved with presentation inscription from the Trackforemen of the Shanghai-Nanking Railway on the occasion of Mr. R. Frame's farewell trip, mounted with a conforming ebonized wood backplate, lg. 15, wd. 12 in. some tarnish. very minor dent to tip of crest. attached to wood backplate. no discernable marks.
