School of Jacob Gerritsz van Bemmel (Dutch, 1628-1673) Hirtin mit eine Herde [Shepherdess With Her Flock] Unsigned, identified on a label affixed to the reverse, red wax seal on the reverse. Oil on panel, 15 1/2 x 21 3/4 in. (40.0 x 55.2 cm), framed. Condition: Horizontal split along center of panel, minor paint losses, surface grime. The label affixed to the reverse reads, "JOHANN GEORG VAN BEMMEL/Geb. Nürnberg 1669. gest. 1723/.../Hirtin mit eine Herde" The label also has a round stamp that reads "dogana/IV 1/+" which is repeated for a second time on the frame. There are also two brown paper tape labels, one on the frame and one on the panel back, that are inscribed in pencil "Sig./Bl...ent..."
