School of Egbert Lievensz van der Poel (Dutch, 1621-1664) Night Scene with Thatched Cottage Ablaze Unsigned. Oil on panel, 10 1/4 x 8 in. (26.0 x 20.0 cm), framed. Condition: Areas of thin pigment, fine craquelure, heavily varnished. Provenance: The estate of George Way. Estimate $200-400 Framed dimensions are 12 3/4 x 10 5/8 x 1 3/8 in. Back of frame inscised "VAN DER POEL." Also with a modern note inscribed "VAN DER POEL" in ball point pen taped to the front of the frame.
