Russian Icon of Michael Arkhistrategos, late 19th/early 20th century, with central scene of Archangel Michael defeating Satan from a winged horse, while carrying a lance and book, and with a trumpet extended from his mouth, with Christ Immanuel before the Hetimasia at upper left, with gilded ornamental border, 12 5/8 x 10 1/4 in. Craquelure, extensive wear and loss to gilt, panel slightly warped.
