Oil on illustration board, 17 3/4 x 12 in. (45.1 x 30.5 cm), framed. Condition: Not examined out of frame. Literature: Richard Stillman Powell, Mary Mapes Dodge, ed., "The Arrival of Jimpson," in St. Nicholas-An Illustrated Magazine for Young Folks , Volume XXVI, Part I, November 1898 to April 1899, p. 2 (illus.), 10. N.B. The present work illustrates a fictional Harvard-Yale game, where Jimpson, a sub-in for an injured Harvard halfback, barrels through on a play for a touchdown, securing Harvard's win. A copy of the story accompanies the lot.
