Portrait Miniature Inset Snuff Box, mid-19th century, turned ivory case, the cover inset with a watercolor and gouache portrait miniature of a lady wearing a straw hat and a red gown, tortoiseshell-lined interior, accompanied by a note stating the snuff box came through the Montagne family of Virginia, dia. 2 1/8 in. The brass rimmed miniature insert is loosefrom the cover, (does not sit tight).
