French Gold-mounted Tortoiseshell and Miniature-mounted Snuff Box, c. 1800, with obscured marks, cover inset with a miniature depicting a young girl in a classical revival dress, foliate stamped mounts and tortoiseshell interior, dia. 2 1/4 in. Small hairline cracks to shell at circumference of lid. Small gouge or defect to shell at side of body (approx. 1/8").
