Paul Klee (Swiss, 1879-1940) Höhe! , 1928. Signed "Klee" in pencil l.r. and within the plate, dated and titled "1928 J9..." in pencil l.l., numbered and inscribed "8/10..." in pencil l.c. Etching on paper, plate size 9 1/8 x 9 in. (23.0 x 22.8 cm), framed. Condition: Margins approximately 1 3/8 inches, toning, light-struck, subtle handling and other creases (most visible primarily from the reverse), masking tape to edges on the reverse. The sheet measures 11 7/8 x 11 5/8 inches. With the exception of the creases to the upper margin, the creases are soft. There is an unpressed horizontal crease across the sheet and a partially pressed diagonal crease running through the upper right of the image. Both are visible on the reverse. There are several uneven vertical pressed creases to the image (each about 1 to 1 1/2 inches long) in the top half of the image. These are visible on the face of the work.
