Three-Vial Brass Hour Glass, France, c. 1763, three glass vials with spherical ampoules containing dark colored sand, the centers joined by colored twine and lashed with gold thread, the brass casing with chased scrolls, punch decorated frieze depicting stallions and marked 1763 , twisted columns, lower door for access to vials and rotating mounting device on the reverse, ht. 11 in. It is likely that these vials are timed at 10-20-and 30 minute intervals.
