DAVENPORT. MAKER. PHILa. , engraved on one end with a script US , and MORt./HOWt. with the size of the shot, and on the other side GUNS/CALIb/SHOT with a range for 3 to 42 pound guns, bottom marked with a scale from one to twelve inches, lg. 17 1/8 in. Note: William Davenport (1778-1829) is listed as a mathematical instrument maker in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from 1802-1829.
