McLoughlin Toy Soldier Original Watercolor Artwork, early 20th century, consisting of a cover sheet marked Soldiers on Guard , depicting ten soldiers of various countries and regiments; ten full-length figures on board, three are marked: Officer American Artillery 1779 (broken); Private, American Artillery, 1779; Lieutenant U.S. Regular Infantry, 1898 Full Dress Uniform; seven others representing various countries; five figures on heavy stock representing Spanish, Boer, and Zouave, in sizes from 5 x 10 to 7 1/2 x 16 in.; a light field artillery rifle on board, 8 x 14 in.; all in bright strong color with fine detailing (some foxing and soil, breaks at edges).
