Henry Wilkinson & Co. , Sheffield, England, circa 1852. Sterling silver cruet set with five crystal vessels in holder, three with sterling silver lids and marked. Ornate cruet holder with scrolled foliate and pierced holders with undulating ribbon top. Inscribed "Presented by Thos Standbridge & Jas Taylor to Mr M. HICKMAN in remembrance of voluntary, generous & important services. Sept 11th 1854". Sterling silver serving piece raised on five lion's paw feet with floral accents above. Marked throughout with maker's marks and assay marks. Height 11.4". Provenance: Rothschild's Antiques, New Orleans, Louisiana whereby acquired by Mrs. Dorothy Edwards, Atlanta, Georgia in January 1993, accompanied with copy of appraisal for replacement value from Jon R. Duryee, appraiser.
