VICTORIAN STERLING INK STAND, HENRY WILKINSON & CO. , SHEFFIELD, 1852-53, H 6", L 11", D 7":The inkwell has a pierced scroll design and scroll feet. Two glass inserts hold glass ink bottles with sterling silver hinged lids. In the center is a small urn form candlestick mounted atop a pedestal. An octagonal cone shaped snuffer attaches to the side of the candlestick. All marked with a Sheffield Sterling .925 lion, a Sheffield date mark "I" designating 1852, a makers mark of Henry Wilkinson & Co., and a Queen Victoria I mark (1838-1890). The stand only weighs approximately 23.2 troy oz.
