A robin's egg skirt suit circa 1940s worn by Madonna in her Golden Globe-winning role as Eva Peron in Evita (Cinergi Pictures, 1996). The virgin wool suit comprises a tailored jacket with pearlized and jewel tone beaded sprays and a scalloped hem and a slender-fitting skirt with scalloping and beaded sprays. The jacket has Armand's of Corpus Christi and Palace Costume labels. The skirt has a Palace Costume label. Costume design by Penny Rose. The film was nominated for five Academy Awards and won one. Palace costumes originally acquired this ensemble from the Estate of Lyndon B. Johnson and was previously attributed as belonging to his mistress. Accompanied by a copy of the film and a certificate of authenticity signed by Melody Barnett of Palace Costume Company. Categories: Madonna
