Five spent blank ammunition rounds used in the Lady Gaga 2011 “Born This Way” music video. These spent ammunition casings were utilized by the “Eternal Mother” character portrayed by Lady Gaga. The blank ammunition was fired on screen by the singer from a modified live firing M249 Squad Automatic (SAW) machine gun as seen in the video. Lady Gaga used this ammunition prominently in several key scenes of the video. During the “Birth of Evil” sequence, the “Eternal Mother” character appears to give birth to an automatic weapon before shooting multiple rounds from the gun. The casings were one of a limited number collected at the end of filming by the weapons supplier, who provided and oversaw their use on the production, and are accompanied by signed certification.
