A collection of 35mm special effects matte elements created by John Dykstra's effects company for the pilot episode of Battlestar Galactica (Universal, 1978). The effects shots created for the pilot using these original matte elements were also used as stock shots throughout the series. These 13 film elements include mattes of the Galactica, Vipers, Cylon Raiders, a shuttle craft, and a series of cloud effects.
