A costume from a race known as the Megarite from Star Trek : The Motion Picture (Paramount Pictures, 1979). The costume consists of a heavy black robe detailed with various size cord and fabric covered panels. The robe had large padded decorative cuffs, and the front is adorned with plastic pieces meant to represent jade. The costume includes a hood trimmed in leather and a long panel attached to the back with attached leather ties and dangles and a pair of leather and suede boots with added Velcro closures. The piece is mounted on a half mannequin and comes with a foam-filled latex half face sculpture to complete the look and a children’s book and record set showing one of the aliens from the film.
