Gilt handle coffee mug gifted by John Wayne to Frank Nugent upon the completion of "The Quiet Man" (Republic Pictures, 1952). The mug is painted with a Gaelic phrase that translates to "One Hundred Thousand Welcomes," a reference to Irish hospitality, and "Duke" in green. Makers stamp on the bottom of the mug is smudged with "Corona Del Mar" visible. John Wayne made a tradition of giving mugs to the cast and crew of his films when they were completed.
