American (first half of 20th century). Vintage Iron Fireman glass advertising sign depicting a mechanical robot form fireman shoveling coal rendered in black and white on gold colored ground. Text on sign reads "COMFORT ECONOMY SAFETY" above figure, company name flanking central character "IRON FIREMAN", and below scene "IRON FIREMAN Self Regulating AUTOMATIC COAL FIRING". Likely that originally this sign was electrified with light behind glass. Framed height 25.4", width 21.6", depth 6".
