Electric Lustre Starch painted pine advertising sign, ca. 1890 , inscribed The Greatest Invention of All Time – Saves Time, Labor & Trouble , depicting a lady seeing her own reflection in a starched shirt, having the original iron hanging eyelets, an unusual product for such a large sign but displays typical advertising hyperbole of the day, 71” x 49”. Provenance: Bill Powell collection, Noel Barrett auction, November 2011, lot 574.
