Designed for the Museum of Modern Art Low Cost Furniture Exhibition.
The chair is shown in Prize Designs for Modern Furniture, by Edgar Kaufmann, Jr. In the text, Kaufmann writes, of the many Knock-down chairs presented in the competition, this one seems to show the clearest understanding of factory procedures and shipping problems. It uses one of the simplest and best devices to secure comfort, whether fabric or leather.
