With S & W mark to upper grip handle on both sides & serial number 5137 to butt. Smith & Wesson; Springfield, Massachusetts, late 19th century, 38 caliber. Single action, nickel plated, with black rubber grips & later holster. Total length of approximately 7-1/2" with total height of 4-1/2".
