Massive Circus Photo Archive. 1910s – 1960s. Approximately 2,000 different photographs, including both originals and vintage reprints, of various sizes, primarily snapshots and 4 x 6” prints, depicting the operation of countless American circuses in the twentieth century, including sideshows, midways, parades, clowns, little people, various circus acts, ornate antique and abandoned circus wagons, performers (some autographed), behind-the-scenes and candid snapshots, circus bands, loading and unloading, equipment and animals, some photo negatives, and many others. The circuses represented include tiny start-ups to the mightiest international players, including Biller Bros.; Clyde, Beatty, Cole; Cristiani Bros.; King; Circo Union (Mexico); Graham Bros.; Gollmar Bros.; Carson – Barnes; Gran Circo Loyal; Rudy Bros.; Kellers’ Jungle; Forepaugh’s; Robbins Bros.; Ringling Bros; Wirth Bros. (Australia); Pawnee Bill’s Wild West; Orange Bros. and Moon Bros.; Tom Mix; Circo Mexico; Schlitz Circus Parade; 101 Ranch Show; Seal Bros.; Sells-Floto; and many others. Most identified by show, although the archive is somewhat disorganized. Generally good or very good.
