Elkington (British, 1861-1963), 19th century. Gilt metal inkwell of circular form with hinged circular lid at center with winged cherub or putti amid flowers within beaded border, lid opens to reveal glass inkwell insert set within, inkwell surrounded by four flying cherubs with floral garlands within scrolled border with flowers and scrolling with four shield form medallions. Marked on bottom with mark for Elkington & Co. with E & Co. under crown within shield, also marked with "C" above "6643" and registration mark. Overall approximate diameter 8".
