Bedford, Esq.," the faux ivory body carved with continuous scene of bacchic revelers, the slightly domed lid engraved with fruiting grapevine, topped by a silvered putto bacchus figure, scrolled handle with bifurcate thumbpiece, low foot with further grapevine, ht. 11 1/2 in.
