American School, 19th Century. "Saint Francis de Assisi Receiving the Stigmata", oil on canvas, apparently unsigned. Depicting St. Francis in woods wearing traditional Franciscan habit, with both arms extended, palms facing up to reveal fresh stigmata, with bible open at his feet, with holy ghost depicted as beams of light emerging from dark clouds above. Framed approximately 37.5" x 35.25". Unframed approximately 35" x 28".
