Two-day Parkinson & Frodsham Marine Chronometer, no. 3771, 3 1/2-in. dia. silvered roman numeral dial marked as above, engraved United Kingdom coat-of-arms and exhibition 1851 shields, internal bayonet-fit dust cover, 2 1/2-in. dia. chain drive fusee movement with damascened plates engraved "Parkinson & Frodsham, Change Alley, London," spring detent escapement, split bimetallic balance, diamond endstone, blued helical hairspring, pillar screws, set up ratchet and pawl, fitted in a three-tier mahogany box with inset brass carrying handles, brass escutcheon, vacant circular mother-of-pearl boss, two partial interior box labels from A.J. Paine & Son and Parkinson & Frodsham. Estimate $600-800 currently winding, setting and ticking, case with missing brass inlay, spring on escapement appears to have had some restoration, Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
