Merrill Second Type Carbine, c. 1863, .54 caliber, serial number 14327, walnut stock (damage), brass fittings, lock and breech lever marked with patent dates, barrel lg. 22 1/8 in. Estimate $400-600 Stock has dings and nicks and a repair at the wrist, steel has some pitting, the lock functions properly, and breech block is stuck.
