American Inlaid Cherry Tall Clock, Jonas Minott signed dial, New England, c. 1790-1810, pierced fret-top case, freestanding fluted columns flanking the roman numeral painted iron dial with floral spandrels and a rose in the arch, the reverse inscribed "Jonas Minott 210," fluted quarter-columns in the waist flanking the inlaid full-length waist door, base with similarly decorated inlay, all resting on cutout bracket feet, eight-day time and hour-strike movement, regulated by a pendulum and two associated weights, ht. 88 1/2 in. without finials. Estimate $1,500-2,000 dial has touch ups and repainting at spandrels, fret and plinths old replacements, some inlay missing below upper cove molding, dial and case appear to be a marriage.
