"Sarah Shaw" Needlework Sampler, England, dated 1829, stitched with two lines of alphabet and two blocks of verse and signed in the needlework "Sarah Shaw Her work Finished in the year of our Lord 1829 God bless the King," and decorated with birds, baskets of flowers, deer, trees, and houses, all within a meandering flower and vine border, framed, ht. 20 3/8, wd. 15 3/8 in. Estimate $400-600 Toning in the central area, a stain in the area of a chicken below center. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
