Giulio Carpioni (Italian, 1613-1679) The Holy Family. Signed and inscribed in the plate "Carpioni Veneto/fe." l.l. and "Matio Cadorin Forma" l.c. Etching on laid paper, 8 1/4 x 5 5/8 in., unframed. Condition: Trimmed to the edges of the image, toning, foxing, hinged to back mat at two places on the reverse, minor brown paper tape remnants to the edges of the reverse. Provenance: The collection of Professor and Mrs. Jonathan Brown, Princeton. N.B. This print is a later edition with the publisher's address of Matteo Cadorin, a print publisher active in Padua in 1640s or later, known from his excudit on works by Bernardino Curti and especially Giulio Carpioni.
